In the lobby of the Marine Institute hangs this 3D map of the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. A significant portion of the shoal area (in light blue) southeast of the island is outside of the Canadian territorial boundary (200 km) and is subject to significant fishing pressure by foreign vessels.
